As a professional artist living and working in the coastal region of Georgia, I am fascinated with the wildlife and the broad, open landscapes in the area. These two themes have become the primary sources of inspiration in my sculpture.
The creation of my high and low relief renderings of landscapes of the coast are wall hangings that are normally created in welded steel, thus utilizing the rich, reflective qualities of metal or cast plaster with its stunning capabilities of light manipulation.
The wildlife studies are freestanding, welded steel replicas of insects or crustaceans. The exoskeletons of these creatures have an elegant architecture that lend themselves to sculptural creation. These pieces are an expression of my own interest in marine biology.
